CARDIOTHORACIC NURSE VACANCIES AT CARDIOCARE CARDIOVASCULAR HOSPITAL, ABUJA.

Vacancies currently exist for Cardiothoracic Nurse(s) with a practicing license from the Nursing and Midwifery Council or its equivalent for the following position(s):
JOB DESCRIPTION:
1.CARDIOTHORACIC NURSE(S) (FULL TIME).
JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
The Cardiothoracic Nurse(s) with relevant working experience:
i.Must have knowledge/skill of operating a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory for coronary angiography and stenting
ii.must be skilled in pacemaker insertion and peripheral angiography
iii.must be skilled in basic nursing and in critical care
iv.must have a sound relevant knowledge in general of cardiovascular medicine, valuable sympathetic bedside manners, strong active listening skills and advanced problem solving abilities while being able to work in a team.
JOB SUMMARY:
- Must be able to creatively/correctly diagnose and treat all cardiology cases presented
- Medical care of inpatients including (but not limited to) severe cases of cardiovascular disorders
- Must be able to perform a range of procedures such as angioplasty, insertion of stents, pacemakers, IABP etc.
- Provision of quality counsel and education to all cardiology patients on how to minimise the impact of a disease condition on health in line with world best practices
- Maintain a detailed report on each patient and also a report on their progress
- Assists physicians with procedures and provides direct patient care as required.
- Provide pre- and post- operation nursing care to patients
- Be involved/participate in weekly Academic Learning activities limited to scope of practice
